Tie-Wraps

Tie-Wraps

We use beaded hair ties to wrap up items such as electrical cords and flags. It is a simple, inexpensive solution.

Universal HangerUniversal Hanger

I have always hated discarding the perfectly good hooks at the ends of overstretched bungee cords. So, I cut off the cord portion and adapted the hooks to make a useful universal hanger.

I took two hooks and connected them using a ¼-inch-by-2-inch hex bolt with two flat washers and a Nyloc (nylon insert) nut, available at any hardware store. This creates a strong swivel hanger that has many uses around the campsite — holding lanterns, plants, electric wires, trash bags, fans, etc.

The hanger can be made even longer by using a longer bolt, or it can be tightened down to keep it from swiveling. The hanger is useful and it gives me the opportunity to recycle those good hooks.

Photo ringMemories On A Ring

Photo albums are cumbersome, so we make copies of our favorite photos; use a punch to make a hole in the upper corner (left for horizontal pictures; right for vertical pictures) of each; and put them all on a binder ring. Our grandchildren help us identify each photo. We use a permanent marker to write a brief description on the front side of each photo. All of us enjoy flipping through the photos as we travel, reliving our experiences in the motorhome.
