Members of the Cardinal Virginians chapter gathered at the Staunton/Walnut Hills KOA in Staunton, Virginia, the weekend of May 17 through 19, 2013, to celebrate the group’s 20th year as an FMCA chapter. The anniversary festivities took place at the old Robert E. Lee High School in downtown Staunton on Saturday with 54 people attending, including 11 charter members and eight of the past 11 chapter presidents.
Special guests included FMCA national vice president, Eastern Area, John Reynolds and his wife, Jayne. Mr. Reynolds presented chapter president Rick Roberson with a certificate of recognition from FMCA.
All attendees received a commemorative ornament with the chapter’s logo and date, and deceased members were recognized with a bell-ringing ceremony.
Past presidents reminisced about the trips and good times they had while they were president. Tales of Canadian Customs misadventures and the many themed campout weekends were highlights of the day.
