RV travel offers never-ending adventures for a Welsh terrier and his crew.

December 2018
I am a robust, 30-pound Welsh terrier, well-traveled, very debonair, highly educated, lover of food, art, and wine. I turn 5 on December 13! I live in Stillwater, Oklahoma, with my two peeps, Becky Teague and Linda Flores, F454694.
Becky is a real estate broker and Linda is an antiques dealer and appraiser (i.e., junker extraordinaire). They have unconventional work hours, so I get to spend lots of time with them.
They are on their third motorhome, a 38-foot 2015 Fleetwood Discovery with four slideouts. It is big enough for me to play up and down the hall. We stay on the go and get around, but we can’t call ourselves full-timers yet.

Captain Cruise loves going on trips with his crew, FMCA members Becky Teague, left, and Linda Flores.
So far I’ve been able to romp and frolic in 18 states. I like to meet up with lots of Welshies (Welsh terriers) and their families. Becky and Linda use BringFido.com to set up all my dinner reservations, and my favorite entree always includes chicken and cheese. In fact, some lovely bistros have a special plate on their menu just for special customers like me. Those establishments get the “5 bones” award.
I enjoy every travel adventure, but a few of my favorites are a four-wheeler ride on the Gulf Coast beaches; the Continental Divide Winery in Breckenridge, Colorado; and boat riding at Ozarks Luxury RV Resort on Table Rock Lake, near Branson, Missouri. I have a lovely spot there. My least favorite thing was a chairlift on a mountaintop. I love dog-friendly Texas, but it has a bunch of red ants and stickers; I could do without either, so I have to be very careful.
My peeps always make sure there is a pet-friendly RV park for me so I can play in the fenced areas. KOA campgrounds are very good with their Kamp K9s.
Sometimes crazy things happen on our travels, like when I stepped out of my motorhome one morning and chickens were everywhere; or when my peeps were locked inside their RV and needed help crawling out the very high window; or, scariest of all, when our GPS directed us smack-dab in the middle of a car tunnel in Biloxi, Mississippi. I didn’t think we would survive, and when we did, I was just embarrassed to death.
Life on the road is always an adventure, and I look forward to every new smell and sight around the next corner. Maybe I’ll even get to meet up with you someday. Until then, safe travels and happy trails.
Your friend,
Captain Cruise (and crew)
