Campground Departure Date Holder

At many campgrounds, your reservation departure date is printed on a sheet of paper that is supposed to be placed in the windshield of your motorhome or towing vehicle. For years, I taped the paper to the inside of our motorhome’s front window, but after the tape was exposed to the sun for days, it was difficult to remove. So, I created a campground departure date holder.

Plastic canvas, also known as vinyl weave, is lightweight plastic with regularly spaced holes, resembling embroidery canvas. It’s available from online retailers, as well as craft and hobby stores.

I cut plastic canvas into pieces that measure 7 3/4 inches high by 9 inches wide (the backing for the paper to lay against); 2 ½ inches by 9 inches (the base); and 3 inches by 2 ½ inches (to form the easel). Also, I cut two narrow strips of 7 3/4-inch-long plastic canvas, which were tied to the side edges of the backing using yarn. The strips hold the paper in place against the backing.
