Giving Back
Please accept my contribution of $250 toward the financial situation now facing FMCA. This is the amount you sent for the cover photo I submitted that was used for the November 2019 issue. I had planned to use the payment for something special. I cannot think of anything more special at this time.
My late husband and I were proud to be members and enjoyed the benefits of belonging. We especially enjoyed our stay at the FMCA campground when we made a trip to see the Ark Encounter and the Creation Museum in Kentucky. I always encourage anyone who is interested to give FMCA a try. Thank you again, and I am praying we get back to normal soon.

Help From FMCAssist
We want to offer praise for receiving help from FMCA. For the past seven seasons, we have traveled with the need for 24/7 oxygen because of pulmonary fibrosis. We have only good feelings about the wonderful experience we had in spring 2019 with the FMCAssist Medical Emergency and Travel Assistance Program.
Jan’s doctor hadn’t prescribed enough pain medications for the duration of our first snowbirding trip, which had started from our Alberta, Canada, home in November 2018. She sought out a prescription from a doctor at our destination, but as it turned out, we didn’t evaluate that med extensively enough, and she ended up with a severe overdose. This almost cost her her life. Fortunately, the medical people in Yuma, Arizona, brought her back, and they got her well enough to go home.
The physical therapist at the hospital said that Jan was not strong enough for a four-day trip back home in the motorhome, and he held us at bay until we sorted that out. We were given the choice to spend thousands more to stay in Yuma for months to receive rehabilitation, or to fly home, so we chose the latter. FMCA brought us and our motorhome back to Alberta.
Thanks so much, FMCA.

Correction
An article in the June 2020 issue highlighted the history and significance of the northern Alabama music scene (“Making Music In Muscle Shoals,” page 52). After publication, we learned the article incorrectly noted that FAME Recording Studios is located in the town of Florence; it actually is at 603 E. Avalon Ave. in Muscle Shoals. According to the company’s website, FAME Music was established in Florence in 1959 but moved to Muscle Shoals in 1961. To learn more, visit https://famestudios.com/.
Family RVing regrets the error, which occurred during editing. Thanks to Woody Burbage, F295776, for bringing it to our attention.
Send Us Your Uplifting Stories
With bad news permeating our world of late, we thought we’d collect and share some good news. Have you experienced or witnessed gestures of kindness during these times of social distancing and altered schedules? Have you had the opportunity to do something for someone else that you’d like to share, in hopes of inspiring others to do something similar? Perhaps you’ve found interesting ways to pass the time, either in your RV or stationary home — new or old hobbies, games, etc. Maybe you’d simply like to share observations you have made during this unusual time. We’d love to hear your stories. Please email them to editor@fmca.com.
