This past October, the newly formed Elizabeth River Going Strong (ERGS) chapter of FMCA’s Eastern Area attended the Great Eastern Area Rally (GEAR) at the State Fairgrounds of West Virginia, where they were presented with their FMCA chapter banner. A great time was had by all, along with good fellowship and RV education. This chapter is located in the Tidewater/Hampton Roads area of Virginia.
ERGS has been very active since 2003, with many of the original “plank owner” members remaining in the group. The purpose of the chapter is to uphold the FMCA values, which include camaraderie, volunteerism, charitable giving, and supporting one another and all other fellow campers. It is the chapter’s desire to promote the use and enjoyment of members’ RVs as well as fellowship reflecting family fun and good moral judgment among its members and guests through camping trips and group activities.
ERGS camps once a month starting in March and through November. Most camping locations are within 200 miles of the Tidewater/Hampton Roads area of Virginia and into North Carolina. ERGS is proud of assisting members with RV issues, caring for each other as family, and increasing RVing education. Of course, we also have fun, cook, and eat meals as a group. We play board games, have campfires, participate in campground activities, tour the local community, and much more. This is a fun group of campers, so please join us during one of our campout weekends. See you soon!
