Family Matters: Chapter Spotlight — Tucson Drifters
The Tucson Drifters routinely gather to explore Arizona, such as the area near Lake Powell. To celebrate their 25th anniversary, the group will be organizing many fun activities this year.

Commemorating 25 years of adventure and friendship.

We are thrilled to announce that our beloved Tucson Drifters RV club is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year! It’s an incredible milestone that speaks volumes about the enduring spirit, camaraderie, and passion for adventure that define our community.

For a quarter of a century, we have come together as a family of RV enthusiasts, exploring the stunning landscapes, sharing countless laughs, and creating memories that will last a lifetime. Each journey has been unique, filled with the beauty of the open road, the joy of discovering new destinations, and the warmth of friendship that binds us together.

To honor this momentous occasion, we have planned an array of exciting events and activities that reflect the spirit of our club. Here’s a sneak peek of what’s in store for our 25th anniversary celebration.

Anniversary Rally: Join us for a grand rally as we gather in Tucson, Arizona, to commemorate this milestone. From October 3 to October 6, 2024, at Catalina State Park in Tucson, we’ll enjoy a weekend filled with food, fun, games, entertainment, and opportunities to reconnect with old friends and make new ones. It will be a celebration to remember! This was the site of the very first rally of the Tucson Drifters and is so dear to our hearts.

Scenic Excursions: Throughout the year, we will organize group trips to breathtaking destinations near Tucson and beyond. We’ll delve into the beauty of Saguaro National Park, explore the wonders of the Sonoran Desert, and marvel at the majestic Santa Catalina Mountains. These outings will allow us to experience the true essence of RVing together.

Sharing Our Stories: We invite all members to contribute their favorite memories, photographs, and videos from the past 25 years. Let’s celebrate the adventures, laughter, and camaraderie that have shaped our club’s history. Send your submissions to tom1st@comcast.net, and be part of a special digital and physical scrapbook that showcases our journey.

Our 25th anniversary is not just a celebration of the past, but it’s also an opportunity to look forward to the exciting adventures that lie ahead. As we embark on the next chapter of our journey, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to each and every member who has made the Tucson Drifters RV club what it is today.

We would also like to thank our founding members for their vision and dedication, as well as our current leadership team for their tireless efforts in organizing events and fostering a sense of community. Without you, this journey would not have been possible. Our greatest gratitude goes to our chapter organizer and founding father, Bill Hohmann. What an amazing man with great foresight for the future of an RV club in beautiful Tucson, Arizona. We still have four original member families: Bill and Joann Hohmann, Clint and Carol Smith, Jim and Barbara Schultz, and Tom and Ruth Roubal.

We encourage you to mark your calendars, spread the word, and get ready to join us for an unforgettable celebration of 25 years of adventure, friendship, and the joy of RVing. Together, let’s continue creating cherished memories, forging lifelong bonds, and exploring the open road. Happy 25th anniversary, Tucson Drifters RV club!

Chartered in 1999, the Tucson Drifters chapter is a group of families who live in Tucson, Arizona, and the surrounding area. Activities take place from October through May, including monthly rallies and dinner meetings. Dinners include a social hour, information on upcoming rallies, presentations of interest to RVers, and occasional entertainment. Guests are always welcome to attend a dinner meeting or rally with no obligation to join the chapter.
