RECALLS: 8/17/26

August 17, 2026

The following recalls were issued by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration on June 22, 2026. To search for recalls, investigations, and complaints by vehicle year, make, model, and VIN, visit www.nhtsa.gov/recalls. NHTSA’s vehicle safety hotline is (888) 327-4236.

COMPANY RECALL – STOP USAGE EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY

Roadmaster has determined that some affected tow bars may develop a condition that allows the T-bolt assembly within the stinger to loosen if a retaining roll pin is missing, damaged, or partially backed out. In rare circumstances, this condition could cause the tow bar to separate from the motorhome’s hitch receiver, potentially resulting in separation of the towed vehicle from the motorhome and creating a risk of property damage, serious injury, or death.

If you own a Nighthawk tow bar with a serial number between 15000 and 20843, immediately stop using it until it has been inspected according to the recall instructions. If your tow bar requires an updated stinger assembly, Roadmaster will send the necessary replacement components directly to you, free of charge. To determine whether your tow bar is affected and to review inspection instructions, visit https://rminc.co/nighthawk or scan the QR code below.

If you know someone who owns a Roadmaster Nighthawk tow bar, please forward this information to them. Not every customer has registered their Nighthawk tow bar, and we need the RV community’s help in reaching all affected owners. Even if your inspection shows that no corrective action is required, Roadmaster requests that owners of affected serial-numbered tow bars contact the company so inspection results can be documented, and ownership records updated.
