Members of Pacers Northwest celebrated the chapter’s 30th anniversary at a rally held August 1 to 4, 2019, at Portland-Woodburn RV Park, near Portland, Oregon. Members arrived in 19 RVs for the event.

Rally attendees included Don Schleuse, FMCA national vice president, Northwest Area, and his wife, Barbara. On behalf of FMCA, Don presented the chapter’s anniversary certificate and check to chapter president Martie Martin.

The celebration dinner included a slideshow that chronicled the chapter’s history. Table centerpieces and banners along the room’s walls featured pictures of past and present members. Among those celebrating with us were former members Bob LeCoque, Russ and Jean Bailey, Don and Gwen Dowdell, Millie Blodgett, and John and Maxine Betts.

After the catered dinner, our auction brought in more than $1,000, which will be used at Christmas to sponsor one or more needy families from Washington or Oregon. The chapter has assisted families in each of the past 25 years. Sponsorships have included purchases of furniture, children’s toys, equipment for people with disabilities, food, vacuum cleaners, and personal hygiene items, as well as payment of utility bills.

The rally’s craft activity was mandala rock painting. Eight talented people completed very artistic dot designs.

What a great time we had. We’re looking forward to the next 30 years of fun, fellowship, and travel.
