Chaparral, which was chartered in July 1969 as FMCA’s 14th chapter, primarily represents northern New Mexico. Many current and some former members celebrated the chapter’s 50th anniversary at a rally held July 14 to 18, 2019, at the Route 66 RV Resort, just west of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Approximately 16 RVs made the trip.

Members of Chaparral, FMCA’s 14th chapter, gathered to celebrate at Route 66 RV Resort near Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Attendees included Rett Porter, FMCA national senior vice president, and his wife, Claire; and Jamie Erickson, FMCA national vice president-elect, Rocky Mountain Area, and his wife, Galina. On behalf of FMCA, Rett presented the chapter’s anniversary certificate and check to chapter president Bob Gross.
Steve and Christine Reid and Linda and Robert Malseed worked hard to make this a rally to remember. For their efforts, each couple was presented with a beautiful quilt made by Sandy Uhl.
All of the meals were first-rate. In addition, Allene Gross presided over bingo games with assistance from Linda and Christine. Bingo prizes were handmade by some talented chapter members.
