FMCA’s Sun Wheelers chapter collected donations from their membership throughout the 2023 calendar year. On January 22, 2024, the group presented a $1,000 check to the Make-A-Wish Foundation in Jacksonville, Florida. The donation was an accumulation of proceeds from bingo games, white elephant sales, and some just out of the goodness of members’ hearts.
The Make-A-Wish Jacksonville office brings the foundation’s life-changing mission to grant wishes to critically ill children in 18 counties in northeastern Florida. All funds raised go toward supporting local children battling critical illnesses. Since 1994, the chapter has granted more than 6,000 wishes.
The Sun Wheelers became an official FMCA chapter in 1974 and is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. The group is made up of RV owners who like to travel and have fun together. Chapter members are from northeast Florida and southeast Georgia and generally meet once a month within 125 to 175 miles of Jacksonville, Florida.
