Recall Corner: December 2011

December 1, 2011

Jayco Inc. has announced NHTSA recall 11V494000, which affects 2010 and 2011 model-year Greyhawk motorhomes manufactured between May 28, 2009, and September 22, 2010, with vehicle identification numbers (VIN) starting at 1FDXE45S09DA61786 and ending with 1FDXE4FSXADA89811. The potential number of vehicles involved is 502.

Jayco has determined that certain 2010 and 2011 Greyhawk motorohomes may have an improper electrical connection at the buss bar on the affected transfer switches. The improper connection may lead to overheating and melting of the transfer switch. If not addressed, this could result in a fire, personal injury, or death.

A Jayco dealer will replace the transfer switch. The repair is expected to take approximately 45 minutes. However, because of service scheduling times, the service center may need the vehicle for a longer time period.

For more information, contact Jayco Inc. at (800) 283-8267. Owner notification was expected to begin in November 2011.
