Family and Friends: Florida Roll’n Gators Chapter Brightens Holidays

March 1, 2015

The Florida Roll’n Gators chapter holds an annual Christmas rally that traditionally has included a gift exchange, with members abiding by a $10 limit. But the December 10-14, 2014, rally at Silver Palms RV Resort in Okeechobee, Florida, was different.

Members had unanimously agreed to forgo the usual gift exchange. Instead, we bought one or more presents — with no dollar limit — and donated them to a local Toys for Tots drive. The campaign was a huge success. It kindled the spirit of giving among everyone who attended, and we hope it put smiles on the faces of many children on Christmas morning.

The Florida Roll’n Gators chapter meets on the second weekend of the month, from October to May, at various middle and southern Florida locations, and we caravan to the annual Southeast Area Rally. For information about joining our chapter, contact membership chair Suzi Olson at (863) 984-7069.
