The rain outside couldn’t dampen the enthusiasm inside the clubhouse at the Wild Frontier RV Park in Ocala, Florida, on April 15, 2016. The Tailgators chapter was celebrating its 20-year anniversary.
A majority of current members attended. In addition, many former members of the Tailgators came to help celebrate.
The evening started with a delicious potluck dinner. Afterward, a couple of members shared stories about how the chapter got started. Some of us were unaware of the determination and perseverance involved in getting the Tailgators established. And now here we are 20 years later, still going strong.
We were honored to have Jim Duncan, FMCA national vice president, Southeast Area, with us. He congratulated the chapter on its longevity. Then came the proud moment when he presented a 20th-anniversary certificate to charter members Fred Paine, Anita Wooster, and Prentice and Brenda Meeks. After that, it was time to cut the cake and make the celebration complete.
The Tailgators’ anniversary was not only a milestone, it was a chance for friends both old and new to celebrate a common bond. Here’s to the next 20 years!
