Recall Corner: March 2013

March 1, 2013

Prevost Car Inc. has announced NHTSA recall 13V021000, which involves 2013 model-year X3-45, H3-45, H3-45 VIP, and XLII-45 Entertainer coaches manufactured from September 25, 2012, through November 29, 2012. The potential number of vehicles involved is 23.

The affected coaches do not comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 108, “Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment.” The coaches have noncompliant side marker lamps. An inadequate reflector could reduce the conspicuity of the vehicle and increase the potential of the vehicle being hit by another vehicle from its sides.

A Prevost dealer will install new side reflectors. The repair is expected to take approximately 30 minutes. However, because of service scheduling times, the service department may need the vehicle for a longer period of time.

For more information about this recall, contact Prevost Car Inc. at (418) 883-2888, ext. 6558. Owner notification was expected to begin in February 2013.
