Tech & Travel Tips: December 2016

December 1, 2016

Photographic Memory

We always seem to have a problem remembering what we’ve left in the motorhome since we used it last. So, before exiting the coach, we take pictures of everything in the bathroom cabinets, the pantry, and our other closets and drawers. Now we know exactly what we’ve left there and what we need to bring with us for the next trip.

Replacement Handle

My motorhome’s exterior assist handle started to lose its chrome plating, and the light inside the clear plastic portion of the handle stopped working. Rather than buy an expensive factory replacement, I purchased a stainless-steel grab bar and installed it with stainless-steel screws. The painted hardwood spacers hide the original mounting holes. The handle looks great and has a more solid feel.

Editor’s note: Verify with your motorhome manufacturer that the mounting area is properly reinforced if the screws for the new handle will be installed in a different spot.
