November 2017
The Maine Wheels chapter celebrated its 30th anniversary June 9 to 11, 2017, at Wassamki Springs Campground in Scarborough, Maine.
Several charter members attended the rally, which featured a Friday night potluck, dinner on Saturday at the Clambake Seafood Restaurant, and plenty of time for catching up with friends. Also on Saturday, members enjoyed a cake and ice cream social, and entertainment by a “real Mainer” whose music, stories, and humor had everyone laughing.
The chapter, which today has about 30 member families, was formed by a group of Maine RV enthusiasts who gathered for a rally at the Good Will-Hinckley School in Hinckley, Maine. Chapter members then returned to the school each summer to clean up and weed around a monument that commemorates the founding in 1963 of FMCA, which also was formed by a group of motorhome owners at the school.
The chapter holds monthly rallies from May through October at various campgrounds in Maine. For more information, contact membership officer Karen Busch at kbwork95@aol.com, or visit http://nsgedb.wixsite.com/mainewheels.
