Dear Editor:
This past summer we were traveling in the Carson City, Nevada, area when it came time for a transmission oil change. It was not practical to do this ourselves, as we had no place to park the motorhome and dispose of fluids, etc. So, we took it to a dealer, who completed the work for us. The problem began when one of their mechanics backed our Fleetwood Discovery out of the lot and struck a motorcycle rack on the back of an adjacent motorhome. Inexplicably, he ran the rack the entire length of our 36-foot RV and completely destroyed three basement compartments. The paint was scraped off the entire length of the passenger side. The vacation immediately ended!
The story improved with the arrival of Ted Rupert of Rupert’s Auto Body LLC. He was there within the hour to assess the damage and make a comprehensive review of repairs. He offered to store our belongings that were in the basement, and to begin work immediately so we could be on our way as soon as possible. His company deals with big rigs, and he invited us to view his shop and meet his employees, as well as view some of the work they had completed on other units. We felt very comfortable with the professionalism and politeness with which we were treated. He instructed his employees to assist us with anything we needed.
The work was completed in a timely and quality manner. Ted allowed us to spend a few extra days in his lot for us to make our own unrelated repairs to the roof and paint it. He offered any tools we required. One of his employees came out and checked on us every day. Two starting batteries died during the repair work, and he replaced them with new Interstate batteries at no cost to us.
Ted Rupert and his employees helped us through this trying situation. We gladly recommend his shop to any FMCA members who require assistance in the Carson City or Reno area. They can be contacted at 2800 S. Curry St., Carson City, NV 89703; (775) 883-4484.

Dear Editor:
I have read all the letters about great companies for RVers, and I want to give a special thanks to BrakeBuddy for their service.
I was starting on my first trip since my retirement and had planned to visit several states. I pulled all my tow equipment out and hooked up my Jeep, but my BrakeBuddy was not working.
I called BrakeBuddy to ask about sending it in for repair and told them I was going to have to cancel our trip. So, they sent me a loaner to use until they got mine fixed. I used the loaner for two trips. On the second trip, the loaner stopped working. When I called to tell them, they sent me a new unit to the campground via two-day shipment.
A couple of weeks later, they called to say my original unit was fixed and on the way to me. BrakeBuddy paid the shipping three times to keep me on the road and even upgraded my unit for a very reasonable cost. Great company to buy from: BrakeBuddy, Hopkins Manufacturing Corp., (800) 470-2287; www.brakebuddy.com.

Dear Editor:
I would like to share my experiences with Risco Inc. (137 Allaire Road, Farmingdale, NJ 07727; 732-872-7722, www.riscorv.com). For the past 17 years I have always been very satisfied with the repairs they have made on my prior motorhomes, but I must say, I am so impressed with the repairs they have completed on my new coach, which were my responsibilities and warranty items. I cannot stress the number of phone calls and the amount of time Tara and Maureen, Risco service writers, spent on the phone working out issues with the manufacturer and insurance company. I must also compliment Sal and Steve for their thorough work and the quality of their repairs.
Mark Barry, the owner, is completely knowledgeable of motorhomes and has a very keen awareness when he is diagnosing a coach’s problems. Whenever I leave their facility, I am extremely and confident the repairs were diagnosed and done properly.
Now that we reside in Florida, I always make it a point to have Risco service our coach when we visit family in New Jersey. I do not hesitate in recommending Risco to all FMCA members.
