Members of the Arkansas Travelers celebrated the chapter’s 45th anniversary with a rally June 5 to 7, 2018, at the Downtown Riverside RV Park in North Little Rock, Arkansas.
Chapter president Phillip Cate accepted the anniversary certificate and check from Joe Wright, FMCA national vice president, South Central Area, and Herman Mullins, senior vice president of the South Central Area’s Six State Rally Association. Arkansas Travelers member L.B. Butts, the Six State Rally Association’s north region vice president, also was on hand.
The Arkansas Travelers was established July 21, 1973, and now has nearly 50 member families. The club hosts six rallies a year — three in the spring and three in the fall — with club members hosting the events in areas of their choice. Hosts and members provide a potluck meal on the first night and the rest of the time we either have catered meals or dine out at local restaurants. We also plan things to see and do, such as tours of local businesses, as well as just have fun. The ladies often organize a craft class.
The chapter has voted to allow owners of towable RVs to join our club, so we look forward to getting acquainted and increasing our membership.
We have members from Texas, Tennessee, and, of course, Arkansas. Our club is growing and we hope to try new places for our rallies.
