Great weather, a great location, and great friends made for an outstanding rally when WesTex members gathered May 8 to 11, 2018, to celebrate the chapter’s 40th anniversary. Forty-six members traveled to Buckhorn Lake Resort in Kerrville, Texas, for the event.
Chapter president Bud Harris accepted the anniversary certificate from Herman Mullins, senior vice president for the South Central Area’s Six State Rally Association, and his wife, Bobbie. Dub Riley, who joined FMCA in June 1982, received a plaque for being the chapter’s longest tenured member.
The chapter’s first rally was May 12 to 14, 1978, in Snyder, Texas. The name WesTex was chosen because it best delineated the area served by the chapter. But then, as now, members lived in all areas of the state.
