Family Matters: Wil Young Shared His Professional Expertise
Wil Young, F207019

January-February 2026

Wilburn “Wil” Young, F207019, applied the financial and management skills developed throughout his career to serve members of the Family Motor Coach Association, now called Family RV Association, at both the area and national levels.

Wil passed away on November 1, 2025, in Braselton, Georgia. He was 88.

While employed at the Internal Revenue Service, he held leadership roles in human resources and union and employee relations, and chaired groups that developed financial and management training. While serving in the U.S. Air Force, he worked in payroll and personnel.

Wil and his wife, Claudine, joined the association in 1996, and he became heavily involved in the International Area. He was elected the area’s first treasurer, a position he held from 1999 to 2008. He established INTO’s initial annual budget, was controller for nine area rallies, served as chairman of its nominating committee, and helped establish its Finance Committee.

Moving on to national office, Wil was elected to serve as the association’s treasurer from 2009 to 2013. He then served as Southeast Area treasurer from 2013 to 2015.

Wil volunteered at area rallies and international conventions in such areas as parking, commercial registration, greeting, and even managing a computer help desk. He and Claudine belonged to several of the association’s chapters as well.

When running for national office in 2009, Wil wrote in his candidate resume: “As Treasurer, I would have fiduciary responsibilities, but as a member of the National Executive Board and as a member of FMCA as a whole, I must keep in mind that our members are why we are here. I believe we can accomplish being both a financially sound and member focused organization.”

Wil is survived by Claudine, a daughter, two grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son.
