MORE ON FLEET FUEL CARDS
I agree with the letter in the July/August edition regarding fuel cards if you are operating a medium or small RV without a tow (“Discount Fuel Card Savings,” page 10). I want to add several key points that were omitted:
1) Many of these stations have pumps in series, so getting access to a pump can be tricky.
2) Not every pump has diesel.
3) These pumps typically shut off at $75 or $100.
4) There’s a risk of having your RV or tow vehicle damaged when obstructing areas from passing vehicles.
5) These stations typically have pumps with small nozzles.
6) Not all cars have driver’s-side fills, which obstructs flow and access. I fueled yesterday at an “L” truck stop, pumping 150 gallons at $4.04 per gallon — very competitive — and was back on the road after 25 minutes.

EDUCATION FOR MOTORHOME OWNERS
I would like to share some exciting news that should be of great interest to motorized RV owners across the country.
In April 2027, two of the most respected educational programs in the RV industry — Freightliner’s Camp Freightliner and Ramblin’ Pushers Inc.’s Annual Maintenance Session — will join forces at the Elkhart County 4-H Fairgrounds in Goshen, Indiana, to create what may become the most comprehensive RV learning event ever offered.
The event will begin with Freightliner’s renowned two-day Camp Freightliner program, where diesel pusher owners receive factory-level instruction on chassis operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and safety. Participants have long praised Camp Freightliner for providing valuable insights directly from the experts who build and support their motorhome chassis.
Immediately following Camp Freightliner, Ramblin’ Pushers will present its six-day Annual Maintenance Session. This educational gathering is open to owners of all motorized RVs — diesel and gasoline — and features approximately 120 seminars covering virtually every aspect of owning, maintaining, operating, and enjoying a motorized RV. Topics range from preventive maintenance and technical systems to driving skills, safety, travel planning, and emerging RV technologies.
The combination of these two highly respected programs creates an unprecedented learning opportunity for RV owners. New owners can build a solid foundation of knowledge, while experienced RVers can deepen their understanding and stay current with evolving technology and best practices. Nowhere else in the RV community can participants receive this level of education from factory experts, industry professionals, technical specialists, and seasoned RV owners in one continuous event.
As motorhomes become increasingly sophisticated, owner education is more important than ever. This collaborative effort by Freightliner and FRVA’s Ramblin’ Pushers chapter demonstrates a shared commitment to helping RVers operate their coaches more safely, maintain their coaches effectively, and enjoy greater confidence on the road.
