Tech Tip: Preventing Power Cord Wear

Tech Tip: Preventing Power Cord Wear

In our RV, the hatch that our power cord runs through has rollers around the bottom of the opening to help make the rolling and unrolling smooth. However, the edges around the top of the hatch are sharp, and it was causing wear to our power cord every time we pulled it out or retracted it.  I came up with a solution: boat rollers. The spool-shaped roller is rubber and typically used on boat trailers under the keel, although many sizes and shapes are available. It works like a charm. Just make sure when you’re bolting it to your RV to leave enough room to replace the hatch cover.
