DEAR EDITOR

A DEDICATED MEMBER

My wife, Donna, passed away February 8, 2026, after a period of prolonged illnesses. As a member of FMCA (now known as FRVA), she was very active in all aspects of the association — the chapters, the International (INTO) Area, and at the national level.

Donna was at one time or another a member of over 20 chapters, including one that we cofounded: CHAI Chavurat Yehudim, the association’s first Jewish chapter. As a chapter member, Donna frequently held some elected position — sometimes two, such as national director and treasurer. When I served as INTO Area president, she worked extensively on the area rallies in a variety of roles.

At the national level, Donna represented various chapters at the annual Governing Board meetings and served on several national committees. She was a constant volunteer and hard worker on behalf of the association.

In addition to myself, Donna is survived by three children and four grandchildren. She will be missed by all who knew her.

PET LOVER’S FOOD RECOMMENDATION

I thoroughly enjoyed the “Pets on the Road” article in your November/December 2025 issue. As lifelong RVers with dogs, providing quality food for them that works within our limited space has always been a challenge. I have been home cooking for the dogs for years. Once we entered into semi-retirement and headed out on longer RV adventures, we quickly realized that freezer space was at a premium. I found a solution close to our home in Michigan and quickly became a fan and part-time team member.

PetMix by Healthy Dogma (healthydogma.com) is a dehydrated dog food that becomes a stewlike meal when you add water. Our pups love it. I also like the company’s ingredient lists: no chemical additives, artificial flavorings, or preservatives.

We appreciate the practical benefits for RV travel. Because it’s dehydrated, PetMix is shelf-stable for up to 2 years and takes up a fraction of the space that canned or raw food would require. My dogs get a nutritious meal without our sacrificing refrigerator or freezer space in our RV. As a bonus, Healthy Dogma is a family-owned Michigan business that produces their food in small batches and sources all their meat from Midwest farms.

For fellow RVers looking to feed their dogs quality food without the storage headaches, I highly recommend this company’s products.
