FRVA Employee Kudos
We joined Family RV Association because its Round Bottom Road office is 2 miles from our house in Cincinnati, Ohio, with very nice campsites and a dump station. As new RVers, we had no idea how much we’d use our membership. It’s been fabulous. Dustin [Tillie], the FRVA Campground and FRVA Store coordinator, is wonderful to work with. He answers our questions, is incredibly kind and helpful, and seems to be an all-around nice guy. He understands that sometimes we just want to be in a campsite for an hour or two to practice our hookups or test one of our RV’s systems when a site is unoccupied.
As long as we have an RV, we will belong to FRVA. Employees are knowledgeable and kind, and the facilities are convenient. We’re thankful for Dustin at the Round Bottom Road office.

Pet Owners

Irresponsible pet owners leave messes at parks and rest stops. Pick up after your dog and help keep shared spaces clean for all.
I very much enjoyed the “Dogs on the Go” article in the November/December 2025 issue (page 56). We have traveled with our Maggie since we got her five years ago. The trouble is irresponsible pet owners. We recently took a six-week trip, and there wasn’t a park we stopped in that didn’t have dog poop someone didn’t pick up. This also goes for rest areas. Just to let these people know, I’m out there watching, so don’t let me catch you not picking up after your pet.

A Great Ride
I joined FMCA (now FRVA) in 1988. Due to medical reasons, I can no longer travel and have sold my sixth motorhome. However, I have been thinking back on all the interesting people I met along the way.
As a pilot on the Mississippi River for over 40 years, I met people from all over the world, mostly ship captains. But I feel the people I met while RVing have been the most interesting of all.
One of the most interesting was Microsoft cofounder Paul Allen. I also remember John, an engineer who helped build General Electric’s first computer, and a guy who trained mules for people all over the world. One refinished religious statues. I also met several airline pilots and a farmer who raised over 1 million chickens per year. Others included a king of the Mardi Gras parade in Mobile, Alabama; NBA player Bob Pettit; professional race car driver Dale Earnheart; a guy who traveled around the country teaching people how to fly remote-control airplanes; and so many others. Also, all the friends we have met and still keep in touch with.
RVing was a great ride, and I will miss traveling so much. My wife and I got to see 48 of the 50 states.
