Family RV Association’s administrative department provides office support for staff and members.

Family RV Association’s national office is separated into six departments. We’ve covered chapters, information technology, and membership in previous issues. The other departments are communications, events, and the group I’ll discuss in this issue: administrative. In my role as executive director, this department falls under my watch as I oversee the company’s overall operations, which involve several groups.
First, I work closely with the department directors — Allen Evans, IT; Penny Gortemiller, chapters; Robbin Gould, communications; and Sherry Light, membership — to make sure they have the information and resources their staffs need to be successful. We hold weekly meetings with FRVA’s management committee to ensure senior leadership is aware of what’s happening at the national office. During these get-togethers, the participants ask questions, make suggestions, and discuss our current and future plans and projects.
Several other groups fall under the administrative umbrella. These employees provide support services for staff and member leadership.
The first is our accounting group. Jeff Scheeler joined FRVA in October 2025 as our controller, bringing a career of experience as a high-level financial officer at several companies. He is responsible for FRVA’s financial activities, data entry, and reporting. Since taking over last fall, Jeff has worked closely with national treasurer Ken Lewis to identify ways to save money, streamline our operational expenses, and reduce waste.
Margie Burwinkel is our accounts receivable and human resources coordinator. When wearing her accounting hat, she is responsible for recognizing revenue and making bank deposits. As our HR coordinator, she oversees all aspects of payroll, benefits, and record-keeping for staff. I relied on Margie’s years of knowledge and experience when developing the staff benefits package this past year and will continue to lean on her for all staff concerns and questions.
The third member of our accounting team is Marcie Barnett, who joined FRVA on January 13 as our associate accountant. Marcie brings years of experience in all facets of accounting and will be counted on to organize and facilitate all accounts payable activities.
Two additional employees play important roles in the administrative department. First, if you’ve ever called or visited the FRVA national office, it’s a safe bet that you interacted with Betty Jo Kunz, our receptionist at the Clough Pike
location. In addition to answering the phone and greeting visitors,
she opens and distributes all incoming mail and packages. She also orders office supplies and lets the staff know who is off or working out of the office each day.
Last but not least, Dan Wulfeck has been our printing and mailing guru for more than 35 years. Nearly all FRVA-printed material, except for Family RVing magazine, is produced by Dan. He also handles the company’s outgoing mail and parcel shipping, including the assembly of new-member packets. Dan recently assumed oversight of physical properties, working with our service providers to ensure the systems and grounds at Clough Pike and Round Bottom Road are in tip-top condition.
You may never see or interact with our administrative department staff, but they play an integral role in our important behind-the-scenes functions to keep Family RV Association operating smoothly and efficiently.

Marcie Barnett
Marcie Barnett | Associate Accountant
Job description: Supporting the accounting team; accounts payable process management; working with our team to streamline initiatives; strong focus on vendor relationship management.

Hobbies, talents, and special interests outside of work: I enjoy spending time with my family. My husband and I have a small car club and host events. In my free time, I like to go to car shows with our friends.
Favorite part of working at FRVA: Being an instrumental part of our team and working with great folks. I very much like the community culture we have!

Jeff Scheeler
Jeff Scheeler | Controller
Job description: Supervision of all financial functions and reporting the financial status of FRVA. Preparing daily cash reports; overseeing accounts payable and accounts receivable; managing cash flow; preparing monthly financial statements; and acting as liaison to the investment broker, commercial banks, and CPA firm.
Years at FRVA: 1
Hobbies, talents, and special interests outside of work: Spending time with my four grandchildren; sports of any kind; motorcycle riding.
Favorite part of working at FRVA: The people. Everyone gets along and is always willing to help each other.

Dan Wulfeck | Print Specialist/Facilities Coordinator

Job description: Responsible for all in-house printing; mailing and shipping services; maintaining the FRVA buildings at Clough Pike and Round Bottom Road in Cincinnati.
Years at FRVA: 37
Hobbies, talents, and special interests outside of work: Florida; Cincinnati Reds baseball; football; American history; old TV shows; spending time with family; church.
Favorite part of working at FRVA: The people and getting to travel to different cities for conventions. FRVA gave me the opportunity to grow into the positions.
